Michael Henningsen

Mr. Henningsen is a veteran hotel professional with over 25 years of continuous experience.

Mr. Henningsen began his hospitality management career with Holiday Inn Corporation in 1982. He joined the Marriott Corporation in 1984, at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, New York. Additional full-service hotel tenure includes executive management positions at the Gaithersburg Marriott in Gaithersburg, Maryland, the opening team for the Bethesda Suites Marriott, in Bethesda, Maryland and opening team at the Fairview Park Marriott in Falls Church, Virginia.

In 1989, Mr. Henningsen joined the Courtyard by Marriott hotel division as a General Manager working from 1989 until 1999, at the Courtyard Rye in Rye, New York and Rockville Courtyard in Rockville, Maryland. In 1997, he became Lead General Manager overseeing Quality Assurance Inspections for nine select service hotels (Courtyard and Fairfield Inn by Marriott) in Mid Atlantic the region.

In 1999, Mr. Henningsen joined the Plamondon Companies in Frederick, Maryland, as Director of Hotel Operations and General Manager of the Frederick Courtyard by Marriott and Fairfield Inn by Marriott. In 2002, he opened the Frederick Residence Inn by Marriott as Director of Hotel Operations and General Manager. In 2006, Mr. Henningsen moved to the corporate office of Plamondon Hospitality with the opening of the SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Hagerstown, MD.

Mr. Henningsen was the Franchise General Manager of the Year in 2000, for the Courtyard by Marriott, Mid-Atlantic Region.

He has served on the Board of Directors for Frederick County Tourism (2000-present) and was President of the Tourism Council (2005-2007). In 2003 he was recognized by the Tourism Council of Frederick, Maryland as Ambassador of the Year. In addition, he has served on the Board of Directors for the Weinberg Center for the Performing Arts (2001-2004) and is currently on the Boards of the Maryland Hotel and Lodging Association (2006- present) and the American Red Cross (2008- present).
